Latest Express Entry Draw: IRCC Invites 3,725 Candidates in All-Program Selection

In the latest Express Entry draw, IRCC issued 3,725 ITAs in an all-program draw, with a minimum CRS score of 500 for candidates.

Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) in the recent Express Entry draw, held on 10 October 2023 issued ITAs to 3,725 candidates. Since the draw held was an all-program draw eligible candidates were required to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 500 and above.

This draw was held right after a series of three consecutive draws that took place during the last week of September.

• The first draw, which occurred on September 26, invited 3,000 candidates in an all-program draw, and these candidates needed to have a minimum CRS score of 504.
• On September 27, the second draw focused on candidates with French-speaking proficiency, and 500 individuals were invited to apply with a minimum CRS score of 472.
• The final draw of the week, which took place on September 28, extended invitations to 600 candidates in the agriculture and agri-food occupations category. The draw particularly qualified candidates having a minimum CRS score of 354.

This latest draw marks a significant milestone, as it means that IRCC has now successfully invited candidates from each of the six new categories that are eligible under the category-based selection system.

Express Entry Annual Report 2022

On September 26, the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) released its annual report on the Express Entry system 2022. The report revealed some key findings:

1. In 2022, there were a total of 24 Express Entry draws, resulting in the issuance of 46,539 Invitations to Apply (ITAs). This represents a significant decrease of 59% compared to the previous year, 2021, which saw 114,431 ITAs.
2. The decrease in ITAs in 2022 can be largely attributed to a pause in Express Entry draws for Federal High Skilled programs, which lasted from September 2021 until July 2022.
3. Among the ITAs issued in 2022, the majority were granted to candidates in the Provincial Nominee Program (19,258) and the Canadian Experience Class (18,895).
4. The remaining 8,386 ITAs were extended to candidates under the Federal Skilled Worker Program. Notably, there were no Express Entry candidates invited through the Federal Skilled Trades Program in 2022.
5. Occupations in software engineering and design, information systems specialties, computer systems development, and programming were the most common among recipients of ITAs. Additionally, food service supervisors and cooks also represented a significant portion of candidates receiving ITAs.
6. More than 30,000 ITAs were offered to residents of Canada. Among the remaining ITAs, a substantial number were given to candidates residing in India (3,787) and Nigeria (1,730).
