5500 More invites Sent By IRCC To Express Entry Candidates in The Second Draw of 2023

Express Entry draws are conducted regularly by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to invite eligible candidates to apply for permanent residency in Canada. Additionally, each of these draws may have specific eligibility criteria such as language proficiency, education, and work experience.

The draw conducted on 18 January 2023, caught everyone by surprise. This is the second draw spanning over two weeks and the good news is IRCC sent out 5500 invitations for permanent residency.

The fact that draws have occurred in consecutive weeks to begin 2023 suggests that IRCC wants to bring in more skilled immigrants this year. The 11,000 ITAs already granted surpass the previous record of 10,000 ITAs issued in January 2021. This marks Express Entry's fastest start since it was introduced in 2015.

This clearly indicates that Canada is leaving no stone unturned to achieve the target that they have set which is to invite 465,000 permanent residents for the year 2023.
