Canada's IRCC invites 1,500 candidates in the first-ever targeted Express Entry draw for trades occupations on August 3, 2023. The selected professions include carpentry, plumbing, and welding, with a minimum CRS score of 388.
On August 3, 2023, Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) took a significant step by inviting 1,500 candidates in the latest Express Entry draw.
This draw marked the first-ever targeted category-based selection for candidates in the trades. The eligible professions, including carpentry, plumbing, and welding, saw a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement of 388.
As announced on August 1, IRCC introduced the new category-based selection specifically to attract skilled workers in trades professions, bolstering Canada's construction sector with much-needed talent.
IRCC Issues 800 ITAs for French Speakers on 2nd August
On August 2nd, IRCC conducted a category-based draw for French-proficient candidates, granting 800 ITAs with a minimum CRS score of 435. The previous French-speaking draw was held on July 12th.
