IRCC extends invitations to 500 Healthcare Workers with a CRS score of 476+ in a category-specific Express Entry draw. Total invitations for this year (2023) now reach 59,548 in 14 Express Entry draws.
The first category-based selection round grants 500 ITAs, with a second round inviting 1,500 workers on July 5, 2023.

This marks the inaugural category-based selection draw following the introduction of six new categories on May 31.
Additionally, a draw targeting eligible candidates from science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields is anticipated to occur during the same week.
The Category-Based Selection Draw
The focus of this draw is on healthcare workers, which is the largest category among the six categories introduced for 2023.
The six categories introduced for the year 2023 are
- French-language proficiency
- Healthcare occupations
- Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) occupations
- Trade occupations
- Transport occupations
- Agriculture and agri-food occupations
