IRCC Marks the Inauguration of Express Entry STEM Draw

Following the announcement by the IRCC last week, the highly anticipated first-ever category-based selection Express Entry draw for professionals in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields took place this week.

Additionally, the IRCC has confirmed that another round of invitations will be issued this week, specifically targeting 1,500 healthcare workers to apply for permanent residence.

In the previous category-based draw on June 28, a total of 500 healthcare workers received invitations with a remarkable minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 476, the lowest score in any Express Entry draw so far in 2023.

In a surprise draw conducted on July 4, the IRCC also invited 700 candidates in an all-program draw, where a minimum CRS score of 511 was required. This draw considered candidates from the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program within the Express Entry system.
