The Growing Significance of Express Entry System
Although initially expected to be surpassed by the Provincial Nominee Program, PNP in 2024, Express Entry still remains Canada's primary economic immigration pathway.
According to Immigration Levels Plan 2025 - 2027 IRCC has increased the landing targets for Express Entry from 110,770 in 2024 to 124,590 in 2025. Meanwhile, PNP landing allocations have been significantly reduced, that is, from 110,000 in 2024 to just 55,000 in 2025.
These adjustments will directly impact the number of Invitations to Apply (ITA) issued, also, the reduction in PNP landings will lead to fewer ITAs through base PNP streams in 2025, while the rise in Express Entry targets will necessitate an increase in ITAs under these programs.
With these changes, Express Entry System will play an even more crucial role for foreign skill workers seeking to immigrate to Canada in 2025.
