Manitoba held its first invitation round of the month under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) on August 7, targeting skilled professionals eager to settle in the province. This draw aimed to identify candidates with the potential to contribute to Manitoba’s workforce and long-term economic growth.
Invitations were extended to applicants who demonstrated strong skilled work experience, competitive scores, and involvement in specific strategic recruitment efforts. By focusing on these criteria, Manitoba continues to attract talent that aligns with its labour market priorities and development goals.
MPNP Draw Results
On August 7, the MPNP conducted its 251st Expression of Interest (EOI) draw, inviting skilled candidates through both the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas streams. A total of 37 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued to eligible foreign nationals who met specific program requirements.
Eligibility criteria for this draw included,
- Achieving a minimum score of 724 on the MPNP’s points-based assessment system.
- Receiving a direct invitation from the MPNP as part of a targeted strategic recruitment initiative.
The LAAs from this draw were issued through the initiatives below.
Strategic Recruitment Initiative | LAAs issued |
Employer Services | 15 |
Francophone Community | 19 |
Regional Communities | 1 |
Ethnocultural Communities | 2 |
Out of the 37 LAAs issued in this draw, seven were sent to candidates who had active Express Entry profiles along with valid job seeker validation codes. The MPNP also clarified possible reasons why some candidates meeting the cut-off score might not have been selected.
The reasons for not receiving an LAA despite meeting the score are,
- Listing an approved language test in their EOI but failing to provide a valid test number or having expired test results at the time of the draw.
- Claiming a direct invitation through a strategic recruitment initiative but not submitting a valid invitation number in their EOI.
