These new categories seek to fill the gap in the Canadian labor market. The latest selection categories include French language proficiency and experience in certain fields.

The new selection categories include the following fields:

• Healthcare
• Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics fields
• Trades
• Transport
• Agriculture and agri-food

These categories are selected based on the counsel of the employer unions, employee unions, immigration scientists and implementers, etc. All of these fields have registered a huge number of vacancies over the last year. Here are the top categories that have the most vacancies right now.

Healthcare

After the Covid-related restrictions, the healthcare sector has accumulated the most number of vacancies in the Canadian job market. The vacancy rate in the healthcare sector accounted for 6%.

STEM Professions

Another sector that has the most vacancies in the Canadian job market is the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics professions. Here are the number of vacancies in each province:

Trades

This trades data includes wholesale and retail trade data. The retail vacancies have increased to 108,795, over the last year.

Transport

The total vacancies for transport have increased to 5% this year, leading to a labor crisis in this sector.
