The all-new Alberta Permanent Residency Scoring System has been opened from today i.e. 30 September 2024 for candidates applying for Alberta Worker Immigration Streams.
The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has introduced a new system to streamline the selection process by aligning candidate profiles with the province's labor market needs.
This workers expression of interest system aims to attract skilled professionals to address Alberta's economic and demographic demands through this program applicants can declare their qualification skills and work experience which will be scored and ranked accordingly.

Key Highlights of the New AAIP Worker EOI System
The main highlights of the new AAIP Worker EOI system include:
- Submitting a worker EOI is free which makes it accessible for all eligible candidates
- Candidate's profiles are evaluated based on factors like education, language proficiency, work experience, age, and family ties to Alberta
- The AAIP will hold regular draws from the worker stream pool, and select candidates based on their EOI Scores, Alberta labor market needs, and the availability of nominations.
- Selected applicants will receive an email Invitation to Apply for the relevant worker streams

How Does the AAIP Worker EOI Work?
Once the candidate has submitted a worker EOI through the AAIP portal they have completed the self-declaring their qualifications. The form requires detailed information which will be assessed using the AAIP points grid with a total score out of 100 points.
Upon submission, candidates enter the Worker Stream Pool from where regular draws will take place. These draws are set to start in mid to late October 2024 so applicants have sufficient time to submit their EOI after the stream inauguration.

The Worker EOI points grid is the crucial lifeline for candidates as it helps determine the eligibility and ranking of candidates in the draw. The total score is marked out of 100 for each candidate. The breakdown of the scoring system includes:
