Australia Updates Visa Rules for International Students: What to Look Forward in 2024-25?

According to a study conducted by the Persons (Person’s Australian Dreams White Paper) 90% of participating 3000 test takers feel welcomed in Australia and 7 out of 10 participants expressed their desire to stay. 80 % of the respondents stated that the Australian land met and exceeded their expectations.

The Australian government has brought in a slight modification to visa regulations to enhance the quality of life for international students. But the implemented changes also bring in a need to undergo a more rigorous Australia student visa application process.

Updated Australia Visa Application Rules

The list of all the latest updates to the visa application modification and process are as follows:

• Students need to be outside Australia while applying for Australia student visa. This initiative aims to fight visa hopping and promote genuine intention application processing
• Australian student visa fee for primary applicants has been increased to $1,600 from previously $710. For applicants 18 years and above accompanying the primary applicant would need to pay $1445, and $390 if the applicant is below 18 years.
• Financial requirements have been increased to a minimum of $29,710 for students and guardians from previously $24,505.
• The age limit to apply for a Temporary Graduate Visa has been reduced to 35 years from the previous 50 years.
• The Australian government has enforced fresh English language requirements for students, to ensure that applicants’ English fluency meets the requisite level of competency needed to complete their education in Australia without and language barriers.
