In recent updates to Canada’s Express Entry system, the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) has recently undergone key changes, i.e. the removal of arranged employment points. This adjustment, implemented on March 25, 2025, has significantly reshaped the Express Entry candidate pool, paving the way for a more balanced and accessible immigration process.
While many candidates experienced a reduction in CRS scores by either 50 or 200 points, this shift in helping create a more level playing field by emphasizing Core Human Capital Factors such as skills, language proficiency and education - over employment offers.

A Balanced Redistribution of CRS Scores
The most significant changes occurred in the higher score ranges, particularly between 501 - 600 CRS points, which saw a decline of 5,740 profiles. Additional drops were noted in the 491 - 500 (by 1,618) and 481 - 490 (by 984) score brackets.
Altogether, 8,342 profiles moved out of these top ranges, largely redistributing into lower ranges due to the removal of job related CRS boosts. However, this redistribution has contributed to growth in other score bands:
- 461 - 470 range saw the largest increase with 2,157 new profiles, likely composed of candidates who previously held scores above 500.
- Ranges like 451 - 460 (increased by 1,750), 471 - 480 (added by 182) and the broader 401 - 450 range (by 5,814) experienced noticeable growth.
