1,000 ITAs Issued in the Latest Canada Express Entry Draw

IRCC Canada recently held another Express Entry draw and issued 1,000 Invitations to Apply (ITA) to candidates under the Category-Based Selection draw for French Proficiency. Candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score of 444 to qualify for eligibility.
This was the third Express Entry system draw in the busy week of IRCC i.e. the second week of October. The 1st draw invited 1,613 candidates with a minimum CRS Score of 743 under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Nominations, while 2nd draw on October 9 invited 500 candidates under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) having a score above the qualifying cutoff of 509.
Recently, category-based selection draws outside of the French-speaking category have been rare. The last such draw was on July 5 for healthcare occupations. Meanwhile, draws targeting Canadian Experience Class candidates have been frequent, with IRCC issuing 21,800 ITAs to CEC applicants since July. This aligns with the department’s goal of increasing permanent resident numbers by focusing more on candidates already living in Canada.
So far this October, IRCC has held three draws. Last year, they issued 9,173 invitations across four draws throughout the month.
