Manitoba has now joined several other Canadian provinces and territories like Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and the Northwest Territories in successfully convincing the federal government for increased nomination allocations for 2025.
The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) has successfully gained an additional 1,489 nomination spots for 2025, which brings the province's total allocations for this year to 6,239 nomination spots.
Considering this rise in their nomination allocation, 2025 Manitoba can now nominate close to 1,500 additional candidates to gain PR and settle in the province before the end of the year.
What Does Increased Allocations Imply for MPNP?
With the restoration of 6,239 nomination allocations for MPNP, the province has now been able to recover 65% of its 2024 nomination allocations of 9,500 spots.
While the declaration of which streams these additional nomination spots would be assigned to, the province has, however, stated that the increase will aid the Manitoba PNP capacity to address provincial labour market needs and deliver to Manitoba's strategic priorities

Overview of MPNP Draws and Invitations Shared in 2025
Throughout this year, Manitoba has primarily focused on inviting candidates under two of its skilled worker streams, namely,
- Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream
- Skilled Worker Overseas Stream
Through the latter, the MPNP has emphasized to invite candidates through its strategic recruitment initiatives, and it is expected that the province may continue this trend of inviting candidates through both streams.
The Skilled Worker Overseas Stream is an enhanced, Express Entry-aligned pathway, which means that the province can issue invitations to, and even pick from, individuals with valid Express Entry profiles.
Applicants who receive a nomination through the enhanced pathway also have the benefit of faster processing times for their PR applications.
*Strategic recruitment initiatives are specialised initiatives led by the employers or communities in Manitoba, which enable the province to identify & invite candidates who possess essential skills currently lacking in the province, helping in addressing ongoing labour shortages while offering foreign nationals a pathway to PR.
