Proven Success
These initiatives expand on the achievements of the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP), which has:

How do RCIP and FCIP Work?
Both RCIP and FCIP are structured to address labor shortages and support economic growth in rural and Francophone minority communities. Here’s how each program works:
Employer Engagement
- Local employers find job vacancies they cannot fill locally.
- Jobs must be in one of Sudbury’s 5 priority sectors (pre-identified per pilot).
Candidate Recruitment
- Employers recruit skilled foreign workers under these categories only:
- RCIP: Job offer in a rural Sudbury community.
- FCIP: Job offer + French-language proficiency (minimum CLB/NCLC 5).
Community Recommendation
- The Greater Sudbury Development Corporation (GSDC) reviews applications.
- Successful candidates receive a community recommendation (mandatory for PR application).
Federal PR Application
- Candidates apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent residency.
- Applications are streamlined through the pilots’ dedicated route.
In the end, whether you are a skilled worker looking to start a new chapter in Canada or an employer seeking top talent Sudbury’s RCIP and FCIP offers a direct route to success.
