The government of Saskatchewan has announced a major update of its immigration program, bringing renewed opportunities for skilled workers. After a temporary pause, the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program SINP is now accepting Job Approval Forms (JAFs) under a redesigned framework that prioritizes key industries.
Key Highlights Of the Recent Changes to SINP
- Priority of Key Sectors: Health care, agriculture and skill trades will receive top consideration for overseas applicants. Other industries will focus on candidates already in Canada with valid temporary visas.
- Industry Specific Gaps: Accommodation, food service, retail trade and trucking sectors will have a nomination cap of 25% of the provinces annual allocations to direct resources towards high demand fields.
- Occupation Exclusions: Sectors such as spas, salons and pet care services (excluding veterinarians) will no longer be eligible under SINP.
- Closure of Entrepreneurial Streams: The Entrepreneur, International Graduate Entrepreneur, and Farm Owner or Operator categories have been permanently closed.
- Changes to Express entry and Occupation In Demand Streams: Applicants without a Saskatchewan job offer will be returned, with eligible candidates able to request a refund.
