Newfoundland and Labrador recently conducted its sixth provincial immigration draw of 2025 on July 29, issuing invitations to candidates in both the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program NLPNP and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).
The Newfoundland and Labrador Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism OIM issued a total of 150 invitations across both immigration programmes. This includes 100 invitations under the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program and 50 invitations under the Atlantic Immigration Program.
This marks the lowest number of invitations issued since the province moved to an Expression of Interest (EOI) system for both programmes.
There has been a slight decline in the number of invitations for the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program when compared to the earlier draws.

How Can You Be Considered for Immigration to Newfoundland and Labrador?
Earlier this year in February, Newfoundland and Labrador transitioned to an Expression of Interest System for both the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program and the Atlantic Immigration Program.
Before this change, the province operated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Now, if you’re interested in immigrating:
- You must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the office of Immigration and Multiculturalism.
- Once your Expression of Interest is submitted to the office of Immigration and Multiculturalism reviews all the submissions and issues invitations to apply, or ITAs in batches throughout the year.
- You can only proceed with an NLPNP application or be included in an Atlantic Immigration Program endorsement application if you have received an invitation to apply.
- In order to be considered for an Invitation to apply, you must align with the labour market needs and ongoing interests of the province.
- Newfoundland and Labrador has identified certain in-demand occupations within priority sectors. These sectors are healthcare, information and communications technology, and aquaculture.
If your job is part of one of these sectors, your application will be prioritised and exempt from labour market testing, making the process faster and smoother.
