UK to Now Let International Students Transition to Innovator Founder Visa Without Leaving

From November 25, 2025, international students will have the ability to switch directly to the Innovator Founder visa without having to leave the country. This is a huge shift, as previous restrictions required students to exit the UK to process this application.
This new regulation means students can start their business journey while their application is being processed right there in the UK.
What is the Innovator Founder Visa?
This visa route is specifically made to allow foreign students to set up and operate an innovative business in the UK. The important thing to notice here is that the business must be different from anything else in the market.
In order to be eligible for the Innovator Founder Visa, the business or business idea must also be endorsed by an approved body, known as an endorsing body, and you need to meet all other standard requirements for the visa.

The Conditions for Switching
For students on a study visa to be eligible to switch to the Innovator Founder route from within the UK, you must meet the following conditions:
- Applied for permission on the Innovator Founder route.
- Your application must be supported by an endorsement from an approved Innovator Founder endorsing body.
- The application must be made while you still have permission as a student.
