Ontario’s EOI System Update
Ontario has recently introduced a change to its Expression of Interest (EOI) system on July 2, 2025, shifting to an employer-led submission model. Employers must now file job offers directly and candidates are only considered if their employer has registered an EOI through the Employer Portal.
Any EOIs submitted before July 2 must be re-initiated through employer action.
The recent Ontario draws features a strong commitment to filling jobs in specific regions and targeted occupations, with a clear shift toward employer-driven application processes in 2025.
