Canada hosted its first-ever trades-focused Express Entry draw of 2025 on September 18, issuing 1,250 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to eligible skilled trades workers. The draw saw a notably high Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cutoff score of 505, which shows a significant rise compared to the previous year. This move signifies the country's commitment to attracting experienced trades professionals, particularly in sectors such as construction, manufacturing, and resource development.
Eligible Skilled Trade Occupations
The list covers 25 NOC codes, including:
- Carpenters and cabinetmakers
- Plumbers and welders

- Heavy-duty equipment mechanics
- Painters, decorators, roofers, and related trades
- Home building and renovation managers

What Candidates Should Do After Receiving an ITA
After receiving an ITA, Candidates are required to do:
- Submit a complete permanent residence application through the IRCC portal within 60 days.
- Gather and provide all required documents, including proof of work experience, education, and language test results.
- Complete medical exams and obtain police certificates as required.
