Ontario PNP Announces 31% Increase in Nomination Allocation for 2026

The OINP nomination allocation has been increased by 31% in 2026, with a boost from 10,750 in 2025 to 14,119 in 2026. Recent changes have also been seen in the OINP nomination, and plans for upcoming stream combinations have been revealed.
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has revealed its nomination allocation for this year, and the number of slots has increased from last year by 31%. For the year 2026, the federal government has opened 14,119 slots for nomination across 8 provincial nomination streams.
However, OINP is yet to announce priority sectors and occupations for the year or a per-stream nomination distribution.
Status of 2026 OINP’s Nomination Compared to Previous Levels?
The federal government has allotted a total of nomination slot of 14,119 for 2026. In the previous year, it was 10,750 for the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program, which marks a 31% increase in one year.
As the PR admissions have increased, the effect will be seen on provinces and territories, with their number of nomination slots increasing compared to initial allocations at the start of 2025.
Among all provinces and territories, Ontario was the only province that remained at its initial 10,750 nominations throughout the year in 2025. Such was not the case for this year. However, while Ontario saw its number of slots increase this year compared to last year, its nomination levels remain significantly lower than in 2024 (21,500).
Overall, the OINP has only recovered about 67% of its 2024 nomination levels.
