Newfoundland and Labrador has conducted its third round of provincial immigration invitations for 2025, following the adoption of its new Expression of Interest (EOI) system earlier in February. This system allows candidates to submit their profiles for consideration under various immigration pathways offered by the province.
The latest round, held on May 29, 2025, focused on candidates who submitted EOIs for both the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP). The Atlantic province has also retroactively shared details on the number of invitations issued under each stream.
Breakdown of Invitations Issued by Newfoundland and Labrador
In its third round of invitations for 2025, held on May 29, Newfoundland and Labrador issued a total of 405 invitations, marking the highest number so far this year. The number of invitations issued under the PNP programs is mentioned below.
- NLPNP: 351 invitations issued.
- AIP: 54 invitations issued.
In comparison, here are the combined invitation numbers from earlier rounds in 2025.
- May 8, 2025: 328 candidates invited.
- April 3, 2025: 256 candidates invited.
So far in 2025, Newfoundland and Labrador has issued 838 invitations under the NLPNP and 151 invitations through the AIP.
These draws are a part of a broader immigration strategy by the province. Newfoundland and Labrador has a total nomination allocation of 2,525 for 2025. This includes 1,000 additional economic immigration slots, which the province secured after negotiating with the federal government, following a significant cut in its original nomination quota earlier this year.
