Breaking down the issuance of national work visas by nationality, the data reveals that individuals from India, Türkiye, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, the Russian Federation, and Albania received the highest numbers of such visas in 2022.

In the realm of national visas, the second-highest category in 2022 pertained to spouse reunification. Germany issued a total of 71,129 national visas for the purpose of reuniting spouses last year, with the largest numbers going to nationals from India, Türkiye, Lebanon, Russia, Kosovo, and Iran:
