• Forms and IDs: The forms and IDs that you must submit are a valid passport issued within the last 10 years with at least 2 empty pages, 2 duly signed copies of the application form and declaration (Section 54 Residence Act), 2 copies of the Declaration for Additional contact and legal representation information, 2 current, identical biometric passport photos, 2 copies of the passport’s data page (A4 size). 
• Proof of Finances: A blocked account in Germany with at least EUR1,091/month plus funds for the return flight or bank account statements. 
• Qualifications: Printouts of the degree or vocational training (min. 2 years) recognized by the state of origin
• Language Skills:  ZAB Confirmation, Level A1 certificate, Certificates for higher German levels (A2, B1, B2, C1) from Goethe or ÖSD, proof of work experience related to the qualification. 
• Personal & Career Docs: Curriculum Vitae (CV), proof of job applications or interview invitations, birth certificate and Aadhar card (with English translation).

Step-by-Step Process for Indians to Get a German Opportunity Card 

Getting your German Opportunity Card application right is all about following the right steps. After 2024, the process has shifted toward a digital-first approach. 

Step 1: Sorting Documents and Pre-Verification

Before you start your application, check if you are eligible to apply.
