The much-awaited second vote for the India Young Professionals Scheme is approaching, and the visa application process is set to commence by the end of July 2023.
The India-UK Young Professionals Scheme is a bilateral initiative aimed at promoting collaboration and exchange between young professionals from India and the United Kingdom. The program is meant to help people understand each other better, make it easier for people to share information and skills, and give participants chances to grow personally and professionally.
The India Young Professionals Scheme's second vote, which people have been waiting for, is coming up soon. The visa process should begin by the end of July 2023.
You need to enter a ballot if you want to apply for a visa for the India Young Professionals Scheme.
The next ballot will open at 1:30 pm(IST) on 25 July 2023, and close at 1:30 pm(IST) on 27 July 2023.
You can enter any time while the ballot is open.
Key features of the India-UK Young Professionals Scheme
- The scheme is open to young professionals between the ages of 18 and 30 years from both India and the UK.
- Participants should possess relevant qualifications, skills, and experience in their respective fields.
Eligibility & Requirements
To qualify for a visa under the India Young Professionals Scheme, you must:
- Be an Indian national or citizen between 18 and 30 years old; be at least 18 years old on the date you intend to travel to the United Kingdom; and have a valid Indian passport.
- Possess a bachelor's degree or higher (Registered Qualifications Framework levels 6, 7, or 8)
- Have $2,530 in savings to live in the United Kingdom.
- Should not have any children under 18 living with you or for whom you are financially responsible.
Before you can apply for a visa, you must first register for and be accepted into the India Young Professionals Scheme ballot. You cannot register if you have previously visited the United Kingdom under this program or the Youth Mobility Scheme visa.
Required Documents
- A valid passport with a vacant page
- Bank statements or other evidence that you have at least £2,530 in your bank account
- Documentation of your credentials such as education
- Tuberculosis (TB) test results if you live in India or another listed country (for more information, see UK Govt. TB testing guidance).

Mistakes to Avoid
- You must submit your visa application within 30 days of receiving notification of your successful balloting.
- At the time of application, you must demonstrate that you have a minimum of £2,530 in your personal bank account. You must have the required funds available for at least 28 consecutive days. Day 28 must fall within 31 days of visa application.
- We observed that some applicants did not have the requisite amount of funds in their account at the specified time prior to the application deadline, and thus were unable to satisfy the financial requirement.
- In addition, you must be able to pay the £259 application fee as well as the £940 NHS Surcharge.
