PNP Draw Update: New Invitations Issued by Ontario, British Columbia & Manitoba To Apply For Provincial Nomination

Highlights
Two provinces sent out the maximum number of invitations to Candidates:
- British Columbia issued 163 Invitations under the general draw that was held on 4th January 2023.
- Manitoba issued 280 candidates under the MPNP (Manitoba Provincial Nomination program) on the 29th of December 2022.
The PNP program began in 1998 and accounted for 1,05,000 PR invitations every year. The numbers have steadily increased to promote economic developments outside the urban centers.
On this note, Ontario, Manitoba, and British Columbia sent out invitations in the recent PNP draws to address the labor shortage.
Update of Provincial Immigration results from January 7 - January 13, 2023
Ontario
On January 10, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program issued 404 invitations to apply for the Employer Job Offer. The draw targeted candidates with a full-time job offer in specific NOC codes and who already are in the express entry pool with a CRS score of 341- 490 were considered.
The province made an announcement on December 22, that it had invited 9750 (the maximum) candidates for the year 2022. In 2023, all new applications as well as existing applicants who have already applied will be considered.
To be eligible for the OINP program, candidates must be able to read, write and speak French at CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) level 7 or higher. Additionally read, write and speak English at CLB level 6 or higher.
British Columbia
On January 10 the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program(BCPNP) issued 123 invitations in a general draw consisting of technical occupations. The tech stream of the BCPNP was launched in 2017, and since then 6000 tech workers have been nominated for provincial nomination.
The invitations were issued to candidates in the Skilled Worker and International Graduates categories and included Entry Level and Semi-Skilled candidates. Under these categories, candidates are required to have a minimum SIRS (Skills Immigration Registration System) score of 90.
Note: SIRS score is much like the Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, but, it is only used under the BCPNP draw.
A round of invitations was also issued to candidates working in the following occupations. All with a score of at least 60 points. Early childhood educators and assistants (NOC 4214) 17 healthcare workers from the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, including Express Entry category and other in-demand occupation.
Manitoba
On January 12 the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program(MPNP) issued 322 invitations. However, the criteria to receive an invitation is the candidates must meet a baseline specific to their program.
The total number of invitations issued under each category is as follows-
With a minimum score of 734, Skilled Workers in Manitoba issued 260 invitations.
20 invites were sent out by Skilled Workers Overseas with a minimum score of 713.
42 invitations were sent out by the International Education Stream without a scoring requirement.
Note: Out of all the Invitations that were sent out, 27 had profiles in the express entry system.
