Highlights:
- IRCC held its sixth draw on March 1st, 2023.
- Invited candidates: 667
- Minimum CRS score: 748
Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada held their sixth Express Entry draw yesterday. In this draw, the IRCC has issued 667 new invitations targeting PNP candidates. This was this year’s third PNP-only draw and the fourth program-specific draw of the year.
The last program-specific draw was held on February 15, 2023, and invited 699 candidates.
IRCC is holding back-to-back program-specific draws after the last all-program draws on the 11th and 18th of January. These two draws have respectively invited 5,000 people from different programs. After this, IRCC waited two weeks to hold the first PNP-only draw since June 2022 on February 1st.
On the following day, another draw was held, inviting 3,000 candidates from the Federal Skilled Workers program. This was the first-ever Express Entry draw since 2015 to target federal skilled workers.
Here is a complete summary of all the PNP-only draws that took place this year to get a better understanding of the latest immigration trend.

The following changes can be noticed when compared to the previous draw:
- A decrease in the minimum CRS score compared to the previous draw can be noticed.
- The invites also seem to have decreased considerably from the first PNP-only draw on February 1.
- The program-specific draws have been a common sight compared to all program draws this year compared to the previous year.
All program draws were stopped due to the pandemic and the subsequent border restrictions until July 2022. All the draws since 2022 were all program draws; however, this year the IRCC has held only two all-program draws, focusing more on the program-specific draws.
Express Entry draws are totally at the discretion of the immigration minister and IRCC. There is no law under the Immigration and Refugees Protection Act to dictate the timing of the draws or the required CRS score.
